Now that it is October, Halloween season has officially started! Halloween is one of my favorite Holidays and I enjoy baking every year for this fun occasion. No-bake recipes are a win-win in my book, so this time around I made Pumpkin Pretzels. They require minimal ingredients, and are done within a half hour. This is a perfect recipe for the kids to get involved in. They are a great fit to stuff in goody bags and last for days in an air-tight sealed container. Pumpkin Pretzels are fun to make, and even more fun to eat!
Ingredients: Mini pretzels, Green M&M’s, Orange food coloring, White chocolate chips, Vegetable shortening, Wax paper, Baking sheet.
Add 1 tbs. vegetable shortening to 1 bag of white chocolate chips and melt the chocolate according to package directions.
Once the white chocolate and shortening is melted, stir until fully mixed and smooth.
Add the orange food coloring.
I combined yellow and red until I reached my desired color of orange.
Using your fingers, dunk the pretzels into the mixture.
Lay them on wax paper, on top of a baking sheet.
While still wet, place a green M&M in the middle of the pretzel, allowing it to stand up on its side, making the pumpkin’s stem.
If there are spots missed, use your finger to cover them with the chocolate mixture.
My batch made around thirty Pumpkin Pretzels.
Allow to dry and harden, it takes about a half hour.
Store in an air-tight container, or give away in goody bags!
Ingredients:
- 1 bag mini pretzels
- 1 bag M&M’s candy, only the green ones
- Orange food coloring, I combined the red and yellow together
- 1 bag White Chocolate chips, melted slowly
- 1 tbs. vegetable shortening
- Wax Paper
- Baking sheet
Directions:
1. Add 1 tbs. vegetable shortening to 1 bag of white chocolate chips and melt the chocolate according to package directions.
*The shortening thins out the chocolate, allowing the pretzels to be coated without being too thick! Shortening allows this to happen, so do NOT skip this step!
2. Once the white chocolate and shortening is melted, stir until fully mixed and smooth.
3. Add the orange food coloring. I combined yellow and red until I reached my desired color of orange.
4. Using your fingers, dunk the pretzels into the mixture, coating the entire pretzel.
5. Lay them on wax paper, on top of a baking sheet.
6. While still wet, place a green M&M in the middle of the pretzel, allowing it to stand up on its side, making the pumpkin’s stem.
7. If there are spots missed, use your finger to cover them with the chocolate mixture.
8. Allow to air-dry and once hardened, enjoy!
