There are two experiences that you can go through in the morning. The first one or what most people like is waking up feeling energized and ready to face everything and anything that the day might bring your way. For the second one, you don’t even feel like stepping out of bed as you feel tired and think that you want to sleep for a few extra minutes. Waking up with energy in the morning should not be an occasional thing as you can make it the norm. And for this to be so here are some ways to wake up with more energy every morning.

#1 Consistency is Crucial

Doctors and sleep experts are always insisting on the need to maintain a consistent sleep routine. A sleep schedule is not just for dealing with insomnia and other sleep-related conditions as it can also help to ensure that you always wake up with enough energy. The body has an internal clock of mechanism which regulates sleep, and it relies on consistency for it to work correctly. If you have a schedule, you can always be confident that you will sleep for enough hours which is the key to feeling energized in the morning. Apart from this, you will not have any difficulties falling asleep or waking up in the morning.

#2 Go to Bed in the Right Way

The surest way to wake up feeling energized and refreshed it to get a good night’s sleep. There is way much more to sleeping well than just making sure that you are in dreamland for the right hours because how you go to bed will have an enormous impact on this. It is important always to remember the fact that there are a few things that you should do and others that you should avoid to ensure that you go to bed well. First, you should not take any caffeine after midday as it will keep you alert for several hours. Alcohol is also a bad idea and if you must take any, one glass of wine at dinner time is enough because too much of it will make you wake up at night. Also stay away from electronic gadgets before bed because the light from these devices will interfere with your brain and prevent you from sleeping.

Your bed is one of the most important factors that determine whether you wake up with energy or feeling tired. The obvious thing is that it should be comfortable with a perfect mattress and sturdy enough so that it will not make any funny noises when you turn. An uncomfortable bed means that you will wake up with aches in different parts of the body and this is if you even get any deep sleep at all. Apart from the mattress, you will also need to have comfortable bed sheets, and silk is a perfect choice for this and also something warm to cover your body. Lastly, you should also have a suitable pillow to help you sleep well.

#4 Avoid the Snooze Button

Most people have a tendency of setting their alarms several minutes or even an hour before the actual time that they want to wake up. And so they will keep hitting the snooze button until it is their “correct” wake up time. However, this is not a good idea if you want to wake up feeling more energized and refreshed. Snoozing might seem like a good way of preparing your body to wake up, but it affects the quality of sleep that you get and in turn, makes you wake up feeling tired. It leads to fitful and fragmented sleep and so you should wake up immediately the alarm rings. A simple trick to ensure this is placing the clock far away from the bed.

What you do once you step out of bed will also have an effect on how energized you will feel. One of the most useful methods of heightening your energy levels in the morning is to take a glass of water before doing anything else. When you are sleeping you will lose a lot of fluid, and so the body is dehydrated by morning, and this will make you feel sluggish. A glass of cold water in the morning will make you alert and full of energy.

With these five ways to wake up with more energy in mind, you can be confident of having a good day. However, it is also important to do some exercise in the morning and to eat a healthy and protein rich breakfast.
