Action-Packed Adventures

Cornwall is a vacation destination that is known for its astounding natural beauty, tranquil surroundings, and cultural scene. But that’s not all that it has to offer.

If you are looking for adventures that are more action-packed and that will get your adrenaline pumping, there are quite a number of options in Cornwall. In particular, the ones that you should try are:

  • Adrenaline Quarry

The Adrenaline Quarry to the southeast of Liskeard certainly lives up to its name. It features a massive zip line that is 50 meters high, 490 meters long, and will send you hurtling over a lake at about 40mph

Aside from that, there are loads of other action-packed activities too, including a giant swing, aqua park, axe throwing, and karting. If you’re looking for exciting things to do in Cornwall – don’t miss it.

  • The Extreme Academy

Another aptly-named attraction for people looking for excitement is the Extreme Academy. Dubbed as “Cornwall’s ski resort on the beach”, it is located at Watergate Bay, which is to the north along the coast from Newquay.

The list of activities at the Extreme Academy includes surfing, traction kiting, wave skiing, land boarding, mountain boarding, kitesurfing, and much more. In short there’s more than enough thrills and spills to go around.

  • Kernow Adventure Park

Located at a freshwater lake between Falmouth and Heston, the Kernow Adventure Park has several activities including wakeboarding and cable tow. However, its highlight is the Wipeout bouncy-castle styled circuit that has free-fall slides, trampolines, jungle joe, and narrow platforms for you to assault.

The adventure park caters to beginners, while at the same time allows more experienced thrill-seekers to ramp up the difficulty. Suffice to say, there’s something for everyone.

  • Segwey Tour

If you’re looking for something novel – why not try the Segway Tour in Bude? It is a tour that will let you explore the Tamur Valley as you steer you Segway through a variety of terrain including hills, mud, puddles, and more.

Don’t worry if you haven’t operated a Segway in the past, as there’ll be a short training session to teach you the ropes. It is definitely the most unique way to see the Cornish countryside, and it is an experience that you’re unlikely to forget in the near future.

  • Siblyback Lake Watersports

Over the years Siblyback Lake has become one of the best destinations for watersports, featuring sailing, windsailing, canoeing and more. It also has a wide range of other activities too, such as archery, fly fishing, or bike hires.

Because it is surrounded by the Bodmin Moor, the area itself is definitely worth exploring. It is a great spot for a picnic, and at night it is one of the best places for stargazing.

Make no mistake there are lots of other fun activities in Cornwall that you can try out, and certainly more than enough places where you can surf, fish, or pursue various outdoor activities. The five that are listed above are the most action-packed options, however, and it will be hard to top them.

Keep in mind however that some activities are seasonal and may not be open year-round. As such you should make it a point to check beforehand and maybe even book in advance if it’s possible.
