Looking back at Oasis, there are so many iconic and famous songs to choose from – but which are their top 10 best-selling hits in the UK? Oasis was one of the best-selling bands in the 90s, with huge personalities both on and off the stage. Although somewhat controversial at times – they are undoubtedly one of the most famous bands of our time. Let’s take a look at some of their top 10 greatest songs.

Champagne Supernova

The top spot on our list of the top 10 Oasis songs belongs to Champagne Supernova. The magnificent song Champagne Supernova transports you on a journey of the soul. It is without a doubt the band’s most well-known song.

Wonderwall

The iconic 1995 song was the second-highest selling UK single that never reached the top spot, I Believe by Robson and Jerome having prevented it. It was certified four times platinum in March 2019, meaning more than 2,400,000 copies were sold in the UK alone.

Live Forever

This song was created in the early 1990s during the Grunge movement as a good little jab at the doomsday mindset the movement expressed. The song “Live Forever” was about enjoying life and being content with what you have rather than constantly being unhappy. Although the band are no longer together, their music is still very popular and people love oasis memorabilia, such as funko pop and T-shirts from their tours.

Don’t look back in anger

This Mancunian classic, another major song from the album What’s The Story, was given triple platinum certification by the BPI in May 2019. However, Don’t Look Back In Anger has managed to reach number one, unlike Wonderwall which has always been pipped to the post.

Slide Away

One of the group’s most outstanding compositional successes during its lifetime is the song “Slide Away” In the midst of their troubled relationship, it was written for Noel’s girlfriend. A variety of uplifting chord progressions and majestic melody lines were present in the song, making it a key hit.

Supersonic

This song, one of Oasis’ biggest successes from their legendary debut album, is a great illustration of their skilful balancing act between radio-friendly pop and rock with a jagged edge, making it a firm fan favourite.

Morning glory

One of their heavier tunes is “Morning Glory.”  Featuring on their album What’s the Story, referencing their previous drug addictions.

Stop crying your heart out

Acquiesce

This opening track from The Masterplan album, which was a compilation of B-side songs that were dropped from the final albums, is so unbelievably good that it shocks many fans it never made the original album. I promise that if you ever need an emotional pick-me-up, simply put this song on and you’ll feel again better in no time.
