Val-d’Isère
Of course, France is known for its wonderful cities such as Paris, but it also has some fantastic ski resorts, of which Val-d’Isère is one. Probably one of the most famous locations in the world for skiing holidays, Val de Ser. It is known as a magnet to the rich and famous looking to show off their skills on the slopes.
Its popularity is somewhat due to the winter Olympic being held there in 1992. Expect peak time from December to March. Remember prices will be higher during this period for accommodation. You can choose from a variety of high-end hotels or catered chalets in this location to suit your budget and needs.
Morzine
Located in the east of France, Morzine is a great choice for skiing as you get the same whether in the Mont Blanc Microclimate. Beautiful mountain views grace much of the accommodation available there. There is a range of routes from black run to beginner, so it’s suitable for any skier, or groups of mixed ability.
Of course, you are not limited to just skiing here, as some of the slopes are well suited to snowboarders as well. Then there are also plenty of restaurant and bars in which to appreciate the apres ski experience.
Colorado
If your have done the whole French skiing thing and are hoping to travel a bit further afield, then why not try the rocky mountains located in Colorado. There are some great slopes there to test the most advanced skiers too.
There is also that feeling of luxury in the resorts there. For example the vail ski rentals, not only provide you with your gear. But they will give you hot chocolate and warm your boots before you head out onto the slopes. What could be nicer than that?
Canada
It not only America that has some great ski locations. Canada is also another place where the snow falls hard and heavy in winter. Â In fact due to its proximity to the Arctic circle Canada is a fantastic place to ensure some great powder snow.
You can choose one of the smaller resorts like Kicking Horse, which will be a little cheaper than the Whistler location. However, the smaller resorts don’t have as much access to the varied routes that are available in Whistler. Sometimes the ski lifts leave something to be required as well. Although you can get a bus from Kicking Horse to some of the other smaller resorts with some good skiing that are dotted around.
Over all the larger resorts have more choice on the type of run you can pick. They are also better set up for luxurious stay. So they make the best choice for your next ski or snowboarding vacation.
