DIY Monday has arrived! Since it is the day most of us dread most, I want to share a project that will make you smile and maybe give you a reason to like Monday just a tad. This beautiful piece of artwork you see is made out of a shoebox. Yes, a lid from a shoebox. I knew keeping all of my shoe-boxes would come in handy one of these days! This craft is simple, fun, easy and cheap. All I did was print out a chevron pattern on card-stock, apply painters tape on the lid of the box, and spray paint my two colors of choice onto the lid of the box.
The end result is fabulous! I love how it adds to the decor of the home and modernizes it. I hung the lid in a corner of the kitchen that needed an extra boost! I want to make more and incorporate different colors. The fun to this project is endless!
Print out the chevron pattern. 
Spray paint to make the design.
- Chevron Pattern From Sunset Magazine.
- Painters Tape
- Quilting Marker
- 2 colors of your choice of Spray Paint
- Shoe box covers (non-damaged)
- Print out the chevron pattern.
- Cover the shoe box in a layer of your choice of spray paint.
- Once the box is dry, place the pattern over the box and use a quilting marker to trace the design on the boxes.
- Use painters tape to mark the design. (Remember to tape the sides of the box!)
- Spray paint to make the design.
- Once dried, remove the tape, and touch up, if needed.
- Hang on wall with a hammer and nail, or two-sided tape!
