Korean Beef Recipe

Korean beef recipe

I found thisĀ recipeĀ for Korean Beef and it looked so delicious! We needed a quick meal and already had most of the ingredients! I did end up making changes, so I will post my version as opposed to the original. We made this in about a half hour and it was so so SO wonderfully delicious! This is now going to be a regular for those quick dinners! I also had a hot and sour soup packet, so Derek made that and we had the perfect cheap, quick, and easy dinner! To complete this meal, we had to use chopsticks! I think I only lasted 5 minutes with mine (still a skill in training, I will master chopsticks one of these days!)!

We tweaked the recipe toĀ accommodateĀ the ingredients we didn’t have; and also for our diets, we used less brown sugar than the recipe called for. I added less crushed red pepper and it was still hot…of course, it should be added to accomodate your own taste, so if you can handle the heat, then add more! Here is my version of the recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce-low sodium
  • 1 tbs. vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger (I used chopped ginger)
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper (was still hot!)
  • 1 bunch diced green onions (its a must!)
  • Salt & Pepper to taste
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 cup instant 5 minute rice (serves 2. If you want more rice, add more! This was a small serving for how much meat there is!)

Directions:

*In a large skillet, over medium heat, brown hamburger Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā
