Go camping.

If you and the family really want to get away from screens this weekend then maybe you should go on a camping trip. Embracing nature is a great way to get away from technology and the chaos of the modern world. You can simply enjoy fresh air and good times with your family. The perfect way to spend a weekend is to sit around a campfire and eat marshmallows with the people you love most. You might think you’ll miss technology, but you won’t once you find yourself in tranquil surroundings. Go on some hikes to admire the beauty of nature. You’ll quickly bond as a family once you get away from the noise of the civilized world. Camping is a great way to make some time for talking and laughing together without any distractions.

Play some games.

If you want a fun excuse to get away from screens this weekend then you should play some games instead. Try turning off the games console for one day. You can last that long without video games, right? It’ll give you and your family the chance to play some classic games instead. You could try out a game such as Cards for Humanity if the kids are old enough or something simple such as Monopoly if you want a family-friendly option for all ages. But if you want to try something more adventurous than the worn-out stack of board games in your living room then you might want to do an escape room. Working as a team to solve riddles and put clues together to get out of a locked room is a great way to bond as a family. Usually, there are no screens involved, but it’s a great way to get out of the house, whatever the case.

Get creative.

You and the family could have fun this weekend by crafting something together. This could be an opportunity to either learn a new skill or laugh at your failed attempts to do so. Perhaps you could all try sculpting clay into vases, for example. If you’re not feeling quite that ambitious then you might simply want to get some blank paper and paint so that you can each create a wonderful piece of art to hang on the wall. That being said, you might all need a bit of practice before you create anything worthy of being framed.
