If you spend most of your time taking care of others and often think of yourself as an afterthought, you might be in need of some personal quality time. While your schedule might not leave you much time to go on a personal vacation, there are other things you can do to give yourself the TLC you deserve.

Relax and Unwind

Maybe it has been some time since you read a book. Set aside some time to read a book from your favorite series and have a glass or two of wine. If reading is not your thing, find a show to watch on television, cable or a streaming service. Or, if you haven’t been to the movies in a while, find out what is showing at the theater and treat yourself to a movie and meal.

Your health is very important and if you aren’t getting enough rest, you could end up making yourself ill. When the opportunity arises, stay in so you can catch up on sleep. In addition to sleeping in when you can, don’t forget to pace yourself in your activities so you don’t burn yourself out.

No matter what stage of life you are in, it’s important for you to regularly make time for yourself. You do not need to make elaborate plans. Just set aside time for you to do something for yourself that is beneficial to your mood, health and mindset.
