10 Tips to Stop Acne

Acne is a common problem of the adolescences. The problem of acne is called as acne vulgaris in the medical terms. Acne vulgaris problem is at its peak in the 17th year of life, but it can start to be observed from as early as 12 years of age. This skin disorder has some serious effects not only on the body but also on the mental state of the patient. Acne can form several types of blemishes on the skin which is intolerable for many. But this problem is completely curable if one takes care of some important points.

Here we are going to give you some tips to stop acne. But before starting with the tips, we must understand and know that actually what contributes to the development of acne. Broadly, the dermatologists have identified the following four factors as the major triggering points for the development of acne.

  • Production of excess oil on the skin which clogs the pore.
  • Building up of the dead skin cells one over the other. Dead cells if not removed from time to time, start to irritate the skin.
  • Propionibacterium acne is bacteria present in the pores.
  • Excessive inflammation of the skin.

1. Wash your face for 2 to 3 times a day:

Though it is a false belief that acne spreads only if the skin is not clean, then also you need to clean your skin regularly, if you do not want to increase the problem of acne manifold. But one thing is to be kept in mind. If you are washing your face 2-3 times daily, it is necessary that you must use a mild-cleanser. Harsh cleansers can affect your skin adversely if y\ou use it in excess. If you don’t have mild-cleanser, you can wash it with warm water also. Over-washing with harsh cleansers can further aggravate the problems of acne. So beware.

2. Don’t scrub hard:

To keep the skin clean people use effective scrubs. Sometimes people even use a washcloth for it and rub it hard on the skin. This can cause high inflammation and can add to the acne breakouts. For the people suffering from acne, harsh scrubbing is prohibited. Instead, use a gentle cleanser and a brush to clean it.

3. Always keep your hairs clean and dandruff free:

You know, the hairs of some people secrets excess oil, which reached to the skin to further aggravate the problem of acne. Dandruff in the hair can also aggravate the problem. 4. Do not pop, prick or pick at pimples:

6. Use antibiotic like Azithral 500 for acne prevention and control:

Antimicrobials have been found to be helpful in the treatment of Acne. Previously, erythromycin has been used as first-line antibiotic therapy, but as an increases bacterial resistance to erythromycin has been observed, the doctors especially the dermatologists have replaced it with a different macrolide, i.e. azithromycin to fight acne. 

An extensive study was carried out to study the effect of Azithral 500 on acne. To start with the effect of the Azithral 500mg on acne vulgaris was observed for 8 weeks.  It was first carried out on teenagers. When the Azithral 500 was given thrice weekly for about 8 weeks, the patients showed some improvement in their condition. When the Azithral 500 was prescribed, no topical treatment was suggested to the patients.

About 52 adolescents were included in the experiment. Out of 52, 37 were males, and 15 were females. All of them were suffering from inflammatory acne. Azithral 500 was given a week thrice for a total of about 8 weeks. At the end of 8 weeks, maximum clearance and the best results were seen.

Azithral 500 is now being prescribed by the doctors to be used for 12 weeks. It is supposed to be used a day thrice. Azithral 500 has now been established as an effective medicine to treat acne vulgaris. There are some other reasons also which supports the use of Azithral 500 for the treatment of acne vulgaris. Some of the major ones are:

  • Tolerability of Azithral 500 is greater than doxycycline and erythromycin.
  • Azithral 500 has unique pharmacokinetics which makes it effective for the treatment of acne vulgaris.
  • Azithral 500 produces lesser gastrointestinal side-effects.
  • There are no major drug interactions with Azithral 500.

7. Keep a watch over your diet:

Bodies of different people react to the same food in different manners. So it is very important for every one to observe that how their body reacts to different foods. Certain foods like chocolate, heavy milk, etc. are found to aggravate the problem of acne. It’s unfortunate that sometimes your favorite food is found to act as the major aggravator of acne problem. But there is no other solution than to stop the consumption of that food. 

Apart from stopping the consumption, of some foods, you need to add some important food and its supplement in your diet. Doctors suggest that you must increase the intake of those food items which contain omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3 fat is considered a healthy fat. If you don’t know which food contains those acids, at least increase the consumption of different kinds of vegetables and fruit. Drinking more water and green tea has also been found to be very effective as it is known to hydrate the skin well and flush toxins out of the body.

8. Include exercise in your daily routine:

If you think that there is a definite exercise which helps to reduce the problem of acne, you are wrong. There is no special exercise to reduce, prevent or control the problem acne, but in general, exercise increases the blood circulation which helps to purify the blood and increase the oxygen supply to the skin. Sweating is known to clean the pores. Exercise produces sweat, which in turn cleans the pores. But always remember a thing, you must take a quick shower after the exercise. It is because if the sweat mixes with the bacteria and oil present in the body, it further increases the chanced of acne breakout. In case, you cannot take a shower after the exercise, at least use a toner to clean the body or face.

9. Use sunscreen:

It is a very well known fact that sun causes damage to the skin and sometimes the damage causes inflammation and acts as a triggering point for acne. It is highly suggested that one must use sunscreen to protect the body from the UV and to reduce the risk of skin cancer. Using a noncomedogenic sunscreen is recommended to help prevent the clogging of pores on the skin.

10. Consult the doctor if the problem is getting extreme:

Though all the remedies suggested above are helpful. But if the problem is getting out of the hands, it is very important for you to see a doctor. It is only a trained, expert and experienced dermatologist that can help you with your problem. Do not wait much. If one waits for long, the problem worsens and sometimes become extremely difficult to treat. Do not let this stage to come and annoy you.
