Singapore is known for being a high energy, expensive, bustling country. However, there is a lot of natural landscape and wildlife in this city. Even in the midst of Covid-19, you can still explore the city in relative safety. Of course, you should continue to take the necessary precautions, such as wearing a mask and washing your hands, but travelling is possible.

Adventurous Things to do in Singapore

Nature/Wetland Reserves

A great way to experience Singapore is to walk around and explore both its nature and wetland reserves. Housed slightly outside and away from the city center, you can usually avoid the heavy crowds that you may find in other places. Bukit Timah Nature Reserve and Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve are places to get into the wildlife of Singapore. Another way you can get a look at Singapore’s beauty is on a Singapore cruise. A cruise will allow you a different perspective on Singapore, simultaneously showing you Singapore’s natural and manmade beauty.

Esplanade

While not technically in nature, the Esplanade building takes its inspiration from the durian fruit. This fruit is very spiky and found throughout Southeastern Asia. This building houses several different concert venues and even has an open-air concert space. Surrounded by lush greenery, you can truly grasp this building’s grandeur without having to step inside. The Esplanade sits right next to the water, providing a beautiful backdrop to any pictures. It is an architectural masterpiece and even features on a Singapore coin. If you love music or architecture, you should definitely check out the Esplanade.

East Coast Road

This section of Singapore is known for colorful shops and amazing food. The East Coast Road is about 1.9 miles long. Here, the shops are packed in so tight there are no alleyways. This area houses some of Singapore’s most famous restaurants. This area also has several museums and stores that show the history of Singapore and its people. Once you have eaten your fill on the East Coast Road, you have to check out the East Coast Park. This park runs directly along the shoreline and you can easily walk there from the East Coast Road. This means you can explore the beauty of Singapore’s food and nature on the same day.

The Southern Ridges

If you want to see amazing trees and flora in a contained and manicured environment, the Southern Ridges might be perfect for you. The Southern Ridges is a walkway through, above, and around five parks in Singapore. The trail is well maintained and goes for 5.6 miles. The most popular area of the trail is called Henderson Waves. It is 256 feet high making it the tallest pedestrian bridge in Singapore. This height offers an endless view of the Singapore treetops and surrounding area. It is also perfect for any level of photographer as the picturesque views are everywhere. As long as you can walk along a sidewalk, you should be able to enjoy this nature filled trail.

Sentosa

Sentosa is best described as a fun-filled tourist island. This island is around 1,236 acres of outdoor fun. Home to several tourist attractions, shops, and golf clubs, there are things all over the island. If you are getting a little tired of nature, Sentosa is home to Universal Studios Singapore. While you may need to take extra precautions to stay Covid-19 free, it is a great way to burn off some energy before heading to the beach. Being an island, Sentosa is surrounded by pristine beaches. Here you are welcome to enjoy the sun and sand, or take a dip into the cool waters. If you are interested in science, there is also an aquarium and an observatory on the island. Golfing is big on the island too and the island’s golf course is award winning. There are even regular light shows from Sentosa island. All of these activities will keep you entertained from sunup to sundown.

Singapore really has everything. From high rises and night life to outdoor trails and beautiful beaches, there is something for everyone in Singapore.
