Bounce Into Your Spring Cleaning!

There’s nothing quite like March, is there? The beginning of the Spring weather starts, and it’s this beaut weather that prompts us all to slough off the hibernation of the winter months and pick up a mop. There’s something beautifully symbolic about brushing away the cobwebs to start a new season. Not that there are cobwebs in the house or anything!

Most people don’t actually know how to get really stuck into deep cleaning the house. I’m not talking about taking a toothbrush to the inside of the oven – although that’s not a bad idea! I’m talking the true nitty gritty of cleaning. Getting under the skirting boards and around the faucets in the bathrooms. Getting in a professional mold testing company to check out those damp spots you got concerned about during the last rainstorm is important, and there are so many things you need to put on your cleaning list! Spring cleaning is one of the more enjoyable things to do at the start of the Spring months, believe it or not, and if you do it right, your whole home can feel brand new and ready to take on the warmth.

Start With A Declutter. Go from room to room and get stuck into the ‘stuff’. Go through all the cupboards and drawers and if there are things there that don’t have a proper home, get them thrown out. Clearing the clutter makes deep cleaning so much easier and this should be step one.

High To Low. The best way to start your cleaning is to work your way from the ceiling down. Dusting the corners of the room and cleaning the light fixtures should be the first thing that you do. Starting from the top to the bottom prevents any old dust floating down and ruining your hard work later on.

Windows Matter! Yes, you have to clean the windows. The best thing that you can do is get the windows washed properly and you can do it yourself. There are plenty of window cleaning hacks, but the best one has to be using vinegar and hot water with kitchen paper to wipe them down for no streaks!

Window Treatments Also Matter. When was the last time you took down the curtains and gave them a proper wash? How about the last time you too a micro-fibre cloth to the slats of the blinds? Yeah, us too. So, use your spring cleaning time to get the whole place looking gorgeous.

Get Floored. Your home probably gets vacuumed and swept out often, but how often do you indulge in carpet shampoo? Having the whole house treated and washed is a big treat for you, and your carpets deserve to be kept a little longer.

Your house should be ready for the summer months and the prep has to include getting into the nooks and crannies and doing those jobs that you’ve spent all winter putting off. It’s time to dust off your hands – and the house – Spring is coming!
