 Early Life

Amethyst Amelia Kelly, or Iggy Azalea, is an Australian rapper and songwriter born June 7, 1990.

Azalea began playing the guitar at age 15, moved to Los Angeles, and started her music label, “Azalea Entertainment.”

The singer-songwriter’s songs were seen by many, and her public acclaim led to various accomplishments, including a Grammy nomination and a Dove Award nomination.

Azalea released her first mixtape, Ignorant Art, shortly after she was released from jail, and then she signed a recording contract with rapper T.I.

Azalea’s new studio album, The New Classic, was a solid addition to her discography. It peaked within the top five on several charts worldwide.

The rapper eventually topped the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, making her the first non-American female rapper to reach the top of the chart.
