Post-Covid Holiday

Well, it feels like forever since we’ve been able to take a holiday. But with Covid-19 restrictions starting to ease throughout Australia, it’s time to start planning your next getaway. We might still be some time from indulging in overseas travel, but that just give us all a great excuse to check out parts of Australia we’ve always wanted to see or if you’re overseas you can add these ones to your bucketlist.

One of those beautiful places is South Australia, and in particular there’s a few incredible getaways you can do with friends, family or even solo. Here’s some great ideas for your first post-Covid holiday.

Travel the Murray River by Boat

The Murray River is an iconic Australian travel destination that simply needs to be experienced. The stunning scenery as you cruise down the river is something you won’t find anywhere else in the world. The great thing about a Murray River cruise is you’re spoilt for options. You can tailor the experience so many ways that everyone can enjoy it.

For the ultimate Murray River experience, jump on board the PS Murray Princess for three, four or seven nights of adventure. The Murray Princess is the largest inland paddlewheeler in the southern hemisphere, capable of carrying 120 passengers in 60 cabins and staterooms. You’ve got accommodation options on the Murray Princess, and you can enjoy this beautiful travel experience in absolute comfort.

If you want a smaller, more boutique option, you’ll love the class of the Proud Mary, which offer two and five night journeys on the Murray River. It holds 36 passengers, comprises of 18 rooms, and is perfect for a relaxing getaway.

Visit Kangaroo Island

Kangaroo Island is ready to show you why it’s one of Australia’s most beautiful travel destinations. The bushfires of the 2019/2020 summer caused a lot of hardship for the people of Kangaroo Island, but the rebuilding process is in full swing. While some parts of the island have suffered fire damage, there’s still an unmatched beauty all throughout the island.

Featuring scores of pristine beaches, hikes and bushwalks, those who love the outdoors will absolutely revel in the delights of Kangaroo Island. You can even get adventures with a whole heap of activities such as diving, surfing, snorkelling, kayaking, paintball, caving and so much more.

You’ll also be treated to some of the delicious local cuisine, with a host of food and drink options. If you’d love to check out Kangaroo Island for yourself, you can add the trip on at the start or end of a Murray River Cruise.

Food and Wine in the Barossa Valley

One of Australia’s most well-known wine regions is the Barossa Valley, and with good reason. Home to a stunning landscape and even better food and wine, the Barossa Valley is a must-see for all visitors to South Australia.

You can jump on a winery tour, or just spend some time enjoying the Valley at your own pace. There’s plenty of beautiful towns to stop in, and of course, the wine isn’t bad either!

Keep an eye on travel restrictions easing, because it’s time to get back out there and enjoy this wonderful country.
