I finally got around to making a Christmas craft! This has been on my to-do list for a long while and I had the opportunity today. I wanted to make the starlight peppermint wreath. This total project cost me about $12 dollars. I bought the peppermint and ribbon at The Dollar Tree. I purchased the 12 inch diameter foam wreath at Michael’s and the red hot candies at my local grocery store. About a good hour this took to make and it is worth it. I love the outcome and it gives a different look to the traditional Christmas wreath. The hardest and most tedious part would be unwrapping the peppermint candies, that took awhile! I had no pattern to the placing of my peppermints. I tried to align them as well as I could. I ended up not using the red hot candies. The placement between the spaces of the peppermints was not even, so the red hots would have looked goofy. I am going to try and seal this and hopefully it will keep until next year. If not, then I will be making another one!
Supplies: Hot glue gun, foam wreath, red hot candies, peppermints and ribbon
The tedious part: Unwrapping all the peppermints
Dab some glue onto the peppermint and press firmly onto wreath
Start placing each peppermint accordingly, however you desire
After all the peppermints are glued on! I went through almost all 3 bags of peppermints
I attached my peppermint themed ribbon
Hung up and displayed
I decided against using the red hot candies, it would not have been even spacing between the peppermint candies
The end result turned out great
An adorable picture of my new kitten until a Christmas tree, who I was fostering and adopted recently!
One of my favorites
