Unfortunately, there are no shortcuts to health; you’ll have to get that weekly exercise done, eat your greens, and make sure that you get enough sleep every night. With everything else that’s going on in our lives, it’s no wonder that some of us struggle to keep up with everything and often end up neglecting their health a bit. In the long run, it could definitely lead to bigger problems.

Luckily, there are a few ways to make it happen without even having to think about it too much. Here is a handful of great ways to look a bit more after your health from now on without having to give up on precious you-time.

It might not give you any more hours during the day – but at least you’ll be able to go to bed in the evening, feeling a bit better about yourself and your own health.

First: Start by eating the right kind of food

If you’re anything like the rest of us, you’re looking for ways to eat delicious food that gives you everything you need in one go. Keeping a food journal is a bit of a hassle, after all, and sitting down for a full breakfast before work isn’t always that easy either.

Try to include the most nutrient-dense foods, first of all, in order to make it a bit easier for yourself. That way, you’ll get almost everything you need in just a few meals and can always get the rest of your vitamins through a supplement such as shilajit in case you’re not always able to eat every single color of the rainbow every day.

In general, you should focus on eating the kind of protein that gives you everything you need in one go; eggs, salmon, chicken, and yoghurt are great places to start.

A smoothie is also a fantastic way to get everything you need without even having to think about it too much. Go for a berry smoothie, for example, and add some yoghurt for an extra dash of protein – or just a scoop of whey protein powder instead.

Next: Snack fruit and veggies for more water

Another point to this is, of course, that you’ll have way more energy by making sure that your body is properly hydrated. Sure, actually drinking water is a fast way to do this – but, by downing a bottle, it’s going to send you to the potty a bit too often than you had in mind.

Try to include the kind of food that contains a lot of water as well so that your body can get it while digesting this food. That way, it will have even more use for it and you can sip smaller amounts of water at a time instead of in order to keep your system going.

Luckily, there is a ton of delicious food out there that contains water and doesn’t fill you up with empty calories; think about what to snack during the day, such as celery, carrots and rice cakes, and fall in love with cooking again so that you can cook up healthy food at home.

Get some quality sleep

Next on the list is, of course, everybody’s favourite way to spend their spare time: safe and sound in their beds and preferably fast asleep. Unfortunately, it’s not always that easy to fall asleep even when we really want to – and it may feel like that first hour after tucking in is somewhat wasted.

We need to find ways to make it a bit easier to fall asleep fast, in other words, and hopefully, get it sorted out before bedtime.

Let’s start with the most obvious one first; your bedroom should be aired out before you go to bed, it should be neat and free of clutter and, of course, sparkling clean. The reasons behind this are both physical and psychological, though, as a tidy room certainly helps your mind to relax a bit more.

Yet, by making sure that it is clean and aired out, you are also improving the air quality in the room – which, you know, there is little you can do anything about once you’re actually asleep. Breathing in stuffed air is not good for you at all and certainly not for hours at a time.

Try to think about how you spend your time right before going to bed as well and see if you’re able to work out a proper bedtime routine. A cup of herbal tea, for example, a nice bath and a chapter in your favourite book could do wonders to calm both your mind and your body.

Repeat this every evening and you may be able to condition yourself into falling asleep a bit faster.

Besides, investing in a quality mattress is a top priority.

Currently, there are many types of mattresses you can try. Memory foam, latex, hybrid are the top choices. Also, you can consider waveless waterbed mattress with many preeminent features to support your sleep as well as pain prevention.

Boost your workout motivation

Finally, there is almost no better feeling than sorting out your workout routine at last. Getting that motivation up and going so that you’re able to sort it out, on the other hand, is an entirely different story.

Let’s start with one of the simplest and most famous tricks first; by putting on your workout clothes without feeling obligated to head off to the gym, chances are much higher that you’ll actually do it.

The idea is that the hardest part is to get started; by dividing it up in easier tasks, such as just putting the clothes on, and perhaps even motivating yourself to get twenty minutes of exercise in, it will be much easier to follow through with it.

Another idea is to put your workout clothes out the evening before so that it’s one of the first things you see when you wake up. Have them next to your bed and in plain sight, so that it’s impossible to escape from it.

That way, you might be able to get out a bit sooner – and back home to a large bowl of food, of course.
