Write a list of what needs to be done

First things first, write a list of what jobs need to be done. However many jobs there are to do, don’t panic. Go around the exterior of your home noting down any issues that need to be dealt with, such as ‘weeds need to be killed’ or ‘patio needs pressure washing’. It’s important to create a list so that you can work through the jobs, ensuring your garden ends up looking as beautiful as possible.

Start with the biggest jobs

It’s always best to get the bigger jobs out of the way first so that you don’t have to stress about them. Things like having a new drive created – you can find concreting companies for this online, or your house painted, should be made a priority. This is because these are the jobs that take the longest time to do. So the sooner they’ve been completed, the better.

Spruce areas you don’t have time to fix

Any areas that you don’t have the time or money to fix properly, spruce. For example, if your patio has cracked tiles but you aren’t able to afford to fix them, find ways to hide them. To do this, you could strategically arrange potted plants on cracked tiles or place garden furniture on them. Or if your home’s exterior could do with painting but you can’t afford it right now, opt to pressure wash it instead. This will give the paintwork a fresh look and will remove any dirt and grime. Even if money is tight, you can still beautify your yard.

Get your garden back in shape

Of course, if you want to be able to host BBQs and other summer gatherings in your home, it’s essential that your garden looks smart. Getting your grass and plants back in shape is much easier than you would think – you can do this yourself or hire a gardener to do it for you.

As well as mowing the lawn, trimming the weeds and planting lots of beautiful flowers, it’s also important to create a relaxing seating area. Ideally, this should be positioned on a deck or patio that’s close to the house. As well as garden furniture, don’t forget the little details. Things like outdoor lighting, bunting, candles, and cute cushions can make a big difference to the look and feel of your yard.

Transforming your garden into a beautiful space ready for summer isn’t as difficult as it seems.
