Factors to Consider before you Install a Fibreglass PooI

As a homeowner, you may want to have a fibreglass pool installed in your home. But before you do that, what are some of the factors that you should consider before you install such a swimming pool in your home.

     1. The reason for having the pool

This is a very vital point. Before you install this pool, you should stop and ask yourself why you need to install the fibreglass pool. Are you doing it for your kids, for entertainment purpose, or as an investment? Or is it a retreat for you and your spouse?

By answering all these questions, you will be able to how you want your pool to look like, for instance if you want a swimming pool for your kids, it should have a slide and a wading area.

     2. Set a budget

Perhaps you already know how much you are willing to spend on a swimming pool, but you can still speak to a pool builder to know how much the entire project will cost. The pool builder will give you an estimate of the total cost plus he will listen to your specifications. Once you have come up with the budget, make sure you stick to it.

     3. Get a credible pool builder

After you have laid down the reasons for having a pool and have set a budget, the next thing is to find an experienced swimming pool company. You should at least interview various candidates and ask them about their general knowledge of installing swimming pools. A credible pool constructer will provide you with samples of his work, provide references, and answer your questions correctly.

     4. Amount of maintenance required

Before you install fibreglass pool, you should be aware of the maintenance level that it requires, and you should ask yourself if you are ready for that. Generally, fibreglass pools are easy to maintain than the concrete pools. This is because the fibreglass is a non-porous, meaning algae can’t find its way into the pool liked it can in a concrete pool.

There are costs associated with maintenance and you should be able to understand them.  You should put into consideration the amount of water it will take to be full, the cleaning, and water maintenance costs.

     5. Consider water features

You shouldn’t forget the water features such as bubbling fountains, spouting scones, elegant waterfalls, and many people love these features just as much as they love the swimming pools themselves. If you want to add these features to your swimming pool, you should do it during the initial construction. Adding these features during construction is advantageous because it is easy compared to doing it after the construction as it might be tricky and impossible.

     6. Safety

Safety is a crucial factor to consider when installing a fibreglass pool. Apart from the fencing and adhering to the local codes requirements, you should also make sure that you have safety measures in place. You can equip your swimming pool with alarms to alert you when someone or somebody has entered the swimming pool.
