You have the power to bring the cinema experience to you. But creating a cinema in your home is more than just installing a big screen and turning down the lights. There’s a whole lot more that goes into it, and you can find out below what does.

First of all you need to pinpoint an area in which to build the cinema. This could be a room that is in desperate need of bringing back to life, or it could be built from scratch as a home extension. Whichever route you choose, however, you must ensure the room has the capabilities to be turned into a cinema. Both the size and shape of it should be taken into account. For instance, a rectangle room is a far more appropriate one to build a cinema in as the sound and acoustics will flourish in it. And of course, dependant on how many seats you want fitting in and if you want them to be tiered, you will have to take heed of the size and height of your room. You then have to work out where you will be sitting everybody, and what you will be sitting them on. You can’t have the seats sit too close to the screen, and you need to bare the viewing angle in mind too. An angle of 35° should be sought as any higher and it may make people feel too close to the screen, and any lower and vision will be disrupted. And once this is worked out, should try to buy seats that are of cinema quality just to make your home cinema seem bona-fide.

And to further the genuine cinema feel you have to pay attention to the temperature of the room. Realistically, especially in this day and age, have you ever been in a cinema that felt too hot or stuffy? No. Every cinema has its temperature regulated by air conditioning, and yours should too. To give provide yourself and your guests with the cinema experience you all deserve you should find out more about air conditioning systems. You should then have one fitted that is suitable for both the shape and size of your room. You should also have one that isn’t loud or intrusive in regards to the cinema experience. And to further aid the cinema experience, why not go the whole hog and bring in all the staples of a cinema? You could have a popcorn machine fitted. You could set up a hotdog stand. You could plug in a pizza cupboard. Or you could purchase a snowcone making device. Whatever it is that you decide upon, Bench Mark, the leading manufacturer of innovative food equipment, has you covered.

Then, finally, you are onto the focal point of the room. The reason why everybody has clambered into your cinema. The most important part of any cinema, let alone yours. The movie and the screen it is played on. But it’s not just about the screen when it comes to playing the movie. You will need to make sure you dedicate space for the source equipment, i.e. the equipment from which you are playing the movie. This could be a blue-ray player, it could be a games console, or it could be a SkyHD box. Whatever you choose, just make sure it is as hidden from view as possible. The screen itself can be anything from a flat screen TV to a drop-down projector screen. If you choose the latter, make sure to take the projector and its position into account. You also need to take into account from where your sound will come. Speakers should be evenly distributed around the whole rooms so as to create a layered sound effect.

So, what’s stopping you from bringing the cinema to your home? Go on, capture the cinematic experience in the comfort of your home and build that home cinema you’ve always dreamed about!
