The Kingdom of Morocco is the most Western part of North Africa. This desert region is one of the most beautiful and well cared for places in the world.

Morocco is the only place in the world where Argan trees grow. These trees only live about 200 years. The problem is, it takes about 50 years for the trees to reach fruit-bearing maturity. The trees grow an amazing fruit that can be used in 2 different ways. The fruit has a pit inside. When the fruit is ripe the fruit opens, giving access to the pitt. It has a nutty fragrance, but neither the fruit (including the pit) are nut free. In the spring, the fruit is green. Tree climbing goats will eat them if they can get to them. In the fall, they turn a beautiful golden color and fall to the ground.

Moroccan Cuisine

Moroccan food is spicy and famous. Perhaps the most well-known dish is couscous. Couscous is a dish that is usually prepared every week in the family home.

When Argan oil is used for cooking. The pits are toasted and then ground until it turns into a thick oil. This does not make a large quantity of oil and toasted variety is the least expensive of the two.
