It’s estimated that approximately 99.9 million watched the last Superbowl. But how many of them were smart enough to make a winning bet on the Kansas City Chiefs?

However, the winner isn’t the only thing you can bet on when it comes to the Superbowl. In this article, we will teach you a couple of tricks to Superbowl bets and how to make the game even more exciting! Read on to find out more.

Against the Spread Betting

Against the spread betting (or ATS as it is sometimes known) is one of the easiest and well-known bets to make in Superbowl betting.

This is where you can place a bet on a team who are the favorites but they will need to win by a certain amount of points after their negative spread number has been deduced from their total.

For example, if you bet on a team that had a negative 4.5 spread they would still need to have more points than the other team after the 4.5 points have been deduced from their final score.

This can also apply the other way around, for example betting on the underdog and adding their ‘additional’ 4.5 points. If they ‘win’ after the game concludes with the additional points then you would win your bet also.

The spread scores can change drastically over the couple of days leading up to the Superbowl. However, once you have locked in your bet with a certain spread number, that will be honored as your betting ticket.

Under/Over Betting

This isn’t about picking a winner, under/over betting predicts the total amount of points scored in the game. So for example, you can bet that the total amount of points scored in a game will be more than 56.5 points or less than 56.5 points.

The total will be decided by the betting companies and you will need to work out if you go under or over. The game total can shift over the time leading up to the game but once you have your bet, your total will be honored.

If there is a whole number it means that ‘pushes’ can be available, with both sides of the bet winning if the game ends on the total amount.

Superbowl Prop Bets

As well as your traditional bets, Superbowl betting has a whole host of zany bets that can inject a bit of fun and theatre into watching the experience. They are interesting and weird and often have nothing to do with football.

For example, for 2020 you could bet on:

  • The color of Demi Lovato’s outfit?
  • Will Demi Lovato use a mic stand?
  • Will Andy Reid wear a hat?
  • Over or under 2.5 wardrobe changes for Jennifer Lopez?
