There are people whose bodies have a hard time processing food with gluten, which is mainly found in various grains. It is a struggle because there are a lot of dishes that have those in their ingredients. This is especially true when it comes to life’s sweetest treats like cakes. It is a good thing that you can now use a gluten-free baking mix. You no longer have to worry about how your body will react; you can readily indulge eating your favorite cake recipes with this.

Speaking of baking, it is thought to be a way of cooking that requires you to be accurate with the measurements. If that is something that could trouble you, some desserts are more forgiving with the preparation process.

Brownies

The essence of the brownie recipe is for you to produce something similar to a sponge cake but denser and moister. It affords you some leeway. It’s fine if it comes out a little more on the gooey side, where chocolate fudge would stick to your teeth in every bite. Or you can make it more on the spongy and fluffy side, and then you can top it with whipped cream or a scoop of ice cream to balance the drier texture. You can also go all out on its toppings. Crushed peanuts keep it gluten-free while adding a little crunch. Top it with marshmallows or candy sprinkles to add more sweetness.

Flan

Flan is a smooth and creamy dessert made out of egg yolks, sugar, and milk. Separating the yolks can feel like work, but when you taste the finished product, you will find that it is all worth it. There is not much to worry about when you place it in the oven other than making sure your flan trays are in a water bath. This is done by pouring hot water on the baking tray first. It allows the flan to cook evenly and prevents the yolks from curdling. Flan is a simple yet sinfully sweet dessert, especially if you pour hot caramel syrup over it.

Pies

There is nothing like having your house smelling like freshly-baked apple pie, and you have to thank your moms for that. Apple pies are a favorite amongst American households, but you can use other fillings like mango or coconut. The filling is ultimately what makes or breaks a good pie. Some recipes just require you to fill the crust with fruit slices and a mix of sugar and cinnamon. You can also have that filled with custard for a more full-bodied slice. Whatever your choice may be, you will have something that smells great and is a perfect companion for your coffee.

You do not have to be a scientist to learn to bake some desserts. These recipes are more lenient when it comes to preparations and measurements, and you can even get some happy accidents out of them. You can use these as starting points before you move on to more challenging dishes. Everyone needs to start somewhere anyway.
