Jewelry for Men: The 7 Pieces of Jewelry Any Man Can Wear

It’s your birthday and your mom has bought you a bracelet. You give her a quizzical look. Sure, you wear your wedding ring, but can guys get away with wearing bracelets in public?

Sure, you can! Wedding rings aren’t the only jewelry for men. In fact, did you know that the watch you’re wearing is seen as jewelry? You don’t think about it when you’re wearing it, but it is.

Even the tie clip that you use to keep it out of your way at work is seen as a piece of jewelry.

There is no shame in accessorizing. To help you dress to the nines, here are a few pieces that you should add to your outfits.

1. Rings

For the most part, the only ring that men wear is their wedding ring, but these aren't the only rings for men.

Signet rings are a good example of this. it's a ring that has your family's initials or your family crest on it. You can also get away with wearing your university or fraternal ring.

As you can see, there is this stigma that a ring must mean something for a man to wear it but that doesn't have to be the case. You can wear a ring to just wear a ring if you would like.

If you choose to do this, keep it simple. A classic silver band looks good and will go with about any outfit that you put on.

2. Bracelets

Yes, a man can pull off a bracelet. It's actually a trend that's been popping up all over the place as of late and they can be quite the conversation starter.

Here are a few that you can choose from:

Beaded Bracelets

These bracelets come in a wide array of different colors so you're sure to find one that will match all of your outfits. Most men like to go for black beads because it looks more masculine than the colored ones.

Don't underestimate the power of earth tones though.

Leather Bracelets

Leather bracelets are the most popular form of men's bracelet. They usually come in black which means that they will match any outfit that you pair them with. They've been around for a while and they aren't going anywhere anytime soon.

Bracelet Cuffs

You can get a cuff in your choice of metal. They are seen as the manlier bracelet option. So, if you feel a little on the fence about pulling off the other two as a man, the cuff may give you a bit of confidence.

Unlike the two above, you can't put this on the same wrist that you put your watch on. It will scratch it up and ruin it.

3. Watches

Most men don't consider watches as jewelry because it's become such an accepted part of the wardrobe. They do serve as functional jewelry though. It's a bracelet that can tell you the time and much more if you own a smartwatch.

The only time when it's not okay to wear a watch is during a black-tie event. However, that trend is slowly dying out. You can wear a leather strap and get away with it.

Any other band such as cloth is best used for casual wear.

4. Cufflinks

Cufflinks are a great formal conversation starter. They come in a variety of shapes, colors, and types so it's easy for you to show off your personality with them and look classy while doing it.

Don't be afraid to have fun with them even at a black-tie event. If you want to have boxer cufflinks because you love your furbaby then go right ahead. If you want a simpler look but still show off, monogram ones may be the way to go.

5. Necklaces

Many men turn away from the idea of necklaces because let's face it, they are hard to style.

If you wear one with a pendant that's too large then you look like a Mr. T impersonator. If you wear one that's too small then it will look feminine.

You can pull off a small pendant if you put it on a mid-weight chain though. You can also do a leather chain rather than a metal one if you don't want to be too flashy.

6. Tie Clip

Tie clips serve one function, to keep your tie from getting in your way when you work at a corporate office or at a formal event. This doesn't mean that they have to be boring though. You can get one that has a few fancy engravings if you want.

Make sure that whatever one you get matches the metal of your other accessories for a unified look. You also want to be sure that your tie clip is the appropriate size for your tie.

7. Blazer Buttons

Whenever you buy a blazer for work it will come with simple, brass buttons. You don't have to keep these boring buttons though.

You can trade them up for ones that are silver or gold. Mother of pearl ones will look good too, depending on the blazer.
