How to Remove Floor Stain in The Right Way

1. Remove Carpet Stains With Beer – You would probably be shocked to know that if you pour a little beer on to a stubborn carpet stain it can completely remove it. What you do is pour a little light or pale ale onto the carpet and then rub it around with a clean rag. The acids from the beer should remove the stain almost instantly. On a precautionary note, do not use dark beer or stout for this stain removal trick. Dark beer will actually stain your carpet even worse. Use a light or pale ale beer only.

2. Vinegar to Remove Carpet Stains – If you combine two tablespoons of table salt with half a cup of white vinegar, you can use this solution as a very powerful carpet stain remover. White vinegar has a lot of acid in it, so it works very effectively at dissolving stains from carpet fibers. Simply pour the vinegar solution on to the carpet stain and let it sit for 5-10 minutes. You can also rub the solution into the stain with a rag. Be sure to only use white vinegar and not any dark or colored vinegar varieties, as doing so can further stain your carpet.

3. Remove Carpet Stains With Shaving Cream – Another way to remove tough carpet stains is by using shaving cream, which most of us have in our house already. What you do is you cover the carpet stain with shaving cream foam, then you scrub it using a very wet sponge. Keep repeating the process until the stain has disappeared. Shaving cream is particularly effective on grease stains or oil-based stains. The acids in the shaving cream break down grease and oil particles quite quickly, allowing you to scrub the stains right out of the carpet. It should be noted that shaving gel will not work for this DIY trick, you need to use shaving cream only.

4. Remove Floor Tile Stains With Club Soda – You would probably be shocked to know that you can remove hard tile stains with some simple club soda. Grease or oil-based stains on floor tiles are very difficult to remove typically, however, the club soda will dissolve the grease or oil by getting deep into the small nooks and crannies within the tile. Simply combine club soda with very hot water and then rub it into the stain with a very moist sponge. Repeat the process until the stain has completely disappeared. Be sure not to use an overly abrasive sponge or you could permanently scratch the surface of your title.

5. Diluted Bleach For Tile Stains – Using a solution made of 10 parts water and 1 part bleach, you can safely and effortlessly remove really tough and stubborn stains from your floor tiles. Mix the bleach with very hot water and then dip a toothbrush or small cleaning brush into the bleach solution. Gently scrub the stain with a circular motion similar to how you would brush your own teeth. Repeat this process until the stain melts away completely. You should wear rubber cleaning gloves while doing this, as bleach can burn your skin if you are overly exposed to it.

6. White Vinegar Can Remove Concrete Stains – A simple mixture of scalding hot water and distilled white vinegar can remove tough concrete stains. Dip a sponge into the hot water and vinegar and rub the concrete repeatedly until the stains are removed. You may have to rub the stain repeatedly for approximately 5 minutes if the stain is particularly stubborn. You will find that this white vinegar solution is very powerful at removing grease and oil stains in particular. Be sure to use a soft sponge only, as a hard brush can badly damage the concrete surface. Never use any sort of metal brush, as this will badly damage the concrete.

7. Use Hot Water and Hydrogen Peroxide on Hardwood Stains – If you create a mixture of one part scalding hot water and one part hydrogen peroxide you can safely remove very tough stains from a hardwood floor surface. Take a very soft sponge and dip it into the peroxide solution and gently rub the stain on the wood. Be sure to use a soft and delicate circular motion, as you need to be careful not to scratch or scuff the wood surface. Continue this process until the stain is fully removed. It may take a bit of patience and persistence to get the stain out, but eventually, it will disappear completely.

8. Remove Hardwood Stains With Ammonia – Using a little ammonia on a sponge can get out stubborn stains from your hardwood floors. Simply place a little ammonia on to a very soft sponge and then gently rub the stain in a circular motion until it is fully removed. Be sure not to rub the hardwood too hard or use an overly rough sponge. Use a soft sponge only, otherwise, you risk ruining the surface of your delicate hardwood floors. On a precautionary note, never mix ammonia with any chlorine, as combining the two chemicals together can create very toxic fumes that can make you sick if you inhale them. Do not mix chlorinated water with ammonia, as this will also cause the same toxic mixture. Use pure ammonia that has not been diluted with water so that you do not risk mixing it with any water that has been chlorinated.
