Detoxing your body is not a new idea. Your body has been continually detoxing through the liver kidneys since you were born. There was a time when that would have been enough. Today, that is not the case.
Every day our bodies are assaulted by chemicals in the air, in our water, and in our food. If we are careful not to eat red meat, processed foods, caffeine, sugar, nuts, and seeds, our bodies can function at a more effective measure. This means you would not need to detox as often. But, no one is unsusceptible to unseen threats.
A healthy adult who eats a high fiber diet, and drinks plenty of water can get by well with a total detox twice per year. A moderately healthy adult (eats properly 90% of the time) will benefit from detoxing four times per year.

10-day Detox, All You Can Eat – sort of
Begin your detox after dinner on Friday evening. Your body may begin to eliminate toxins quickly, and you will be comfortable at home. By Monday, the urgency will have slowed so that you can handle detoxing without fear. Dinner on Friday is a green salad with lemon water or vegetable or fruit juice.
Foods and other things that are off limits
- Grains (all kinds)
- Starchy Vegetables
- Over the counter medicines
- Milk, eggs, butter, cheese
What you can consume
Non-starchy vegetables (All you want)
Fresh fruit 3-4 servings per day
Nut and seeds
Veggie/fruit smoothie (Up to 32 ounces per day)
Eat a protein-packed meal 3 times per day. You can substitute a green smoothy instead of your mid-day meal. Drink water continually. Stop eating and drinking (except water) three hours before bedtime.

(2) 3-Day Juice Detox
Prepare 32 ounces of green juice. You need 50% of the ingredients to be from fruit. The other 50% should be from your approved veggies on your (above) list.
Begin 2 day before you begin to detox, stop eating sugar and drinking coffee. This will prevent you from getting headaches.
Begin your day with 8-ounces of water with or without lemon. Prepare your smoothie or juice in 4-eight ounce container. You will consume one each for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Save the final glass for your after dinner snack. All your servings must drink at least two hours before bedtime. You can sip water anytime you feel hungry.

(3) Heavy Metal Detox
Our bodies need small amounts of minerals. zink, copper, chromium, iron, and magnesium are good examples. Too much of these minerals in the human body can cause toxicity. We usually get this overexposure to heavy metals through industrial chemicals, in the water we drink, and in some foods we eat.
This is intended to be a 24-hour detox. Do not stay on this plan for more than 3 days.
Prepare your smoothies fresh every morning to get the most out of the nutrients. This blend will work fast. Be sure to drink water between your liquid meal to was the toxins out of your body
- 3-5 stalks celery
- 1 lemon
- ½ fennel bulb
- 1 cucumber
- ½ cup cilantro
- ½ cup parsley
- 1 green apple
You will need 32-ounces of this recipe per day. Most people use this as a 24-hour detox. Divide the smoothie into 32-ounces of smoothie into four 8-ounce servings. When you wake up in the morning, drink 8 ounces of water. Continue to drink water between your meal smoothies. Drink 8 ounces for breakfast.

So, you had a great weekend. Eating out with friends, having a few drinks, and getting far less sleep than you needed. Now it is Monday morning and you are regretting some of those decisions. This detox plan will make you feel better in a day or two. However, it is a good idea to use it for five full days.
This is a very easy and sensible program. This is how it goes:
- No sugar
- No Starchy vegetables
- Low Salt
- No alcohol
- Only good fats
- Lots of green and non-starchy vegetables
- Heavy on protein
- DRINK WATER
Drink water from the moment you wake-up until you retire at night. Alcohol, sugar, and fat dehydrate you. You have to recover.
