Event: Gazelle Girl Half Marathon & 5k

April 19, 2015 is JUST around the corner and I can feel it approaching quickly! On this day, I will be running the Gazelle Girl Half Marathon! This will be my first Half Marathon for the year and I am anxiously awaiting its arrival. I have been preparing for this event since January with strict training and dieting, and I am ready to give it all I got!
The Gazelle Girl Half Marathon and 5K race is in my hometown of Grand Rapids. The course runs through downtown, showcasing all the beauty the city has to offer. Since the inaugural race in 2013, I have only run the 5K race (read about it here), placing top 3 in my age group. This year will be a lot different as I embark on the Half Marathon. I expect this race to be full of energy and hope to be smiling the whole way though. I know it will be tough, but with other women cheering me on, it will help me to not give up and keep on running.
 So why am I running the Half Marathon? Why not! I receive a sterling silver finishers charm from imua jewelry by Terryberry and have the honor of running alongside all women. This is an all-girls race and nothing can beat the experience of women coming together for a wonderful cause!

The race was centered around Rosa Parks Circle in downtown Grand Rapids for its first two years, but will be transitioning to the larger Calder Plaza area for the 2015 race reason.
