Father’s Day Tie Card

For any Holiday, I always try to make some kind of do-it-yourself craft. As a kid, we would in school for Mother’s and Father’s Day. I guess I kept that tradition going. I love homemade gifts. It shows the effort and love you have for that person. So this year for Father’s Day, I made a Tie-Card which is perfect!

We all know Dad is sick of getting real ties and I guarantee this will be his favorite one! It is super easy. The hardest part I had, was trying to find buttons in the house! I couldn’t find ones that match, but I found 2 that were close enough and turned out great! The tie pattern, is a free print-out I came across. It matched perfect with the black card-stock. With the left over ties, I decided to make another project; My Tie Banner. I love combining two different do-it-yourself’s with one!

This is such an easy and fun craft for the kids to make. Once again, the possibilities are endless with making this your own!

Start by folding your piece of Card-Stock in half, hamburger style

Next, measure about 1 inch down from the top of the fold and then with scissors, cut into the paper about 1-1 1/2 inches over towards the center

There will be 2 flaps on each side of the paper. Glue the tie print-out in the center of the paper and glue the flaps over the tie

Then glue the 2 buttons onto the outside of the flaps

Make necessary adjustments. I had to cut off about an inch of paper because I thought the shirt looked too wide

Let dry and enjoy giving to Dad!
