If you’ve decided to dedicate yourself to fitness – that’s great. This is the best time to start! All the festivities are done, and you can really focus on getting yourself in shape and loving every bit of you. A common thing that is overlooked though, is the feet. When you’re working out, your feet are essentially the thing that support your body, so it’s so important that you do things properly, so you’re safe while getting fit.

There are many different ways that you can do this; here are the best in one place.

Warm-ups

As you may have already heard, warm-ups are one of the most important things you can do, and you should do them whenever you plan on working out, and also when you’re done. One way you can warm your feet up properly is by pointing and flexing them ten times. Another good one is to roll your ankles outwards ten times and then reverse it round the other way another ten times. You should be able to feel a light pull. This is good as it means your muscles are being used and you are less likely to strain yourself.

You want to make sure that you focus on every different part of your body as well as your feet though, as this stops you from pulling or even tearing any muscles.

Insoles

There are many different insoles out there on the market; it can be difficult to know what is best for you. If you’re looking for an option that will transform your life through alignment starting at your feet and ending with comfort and support, shoe insoles from Protalus are exactly what you need. These aren’t only suited to people with issues though – anyone can have them to improve comfort and prevent you from causing an injury, all because orthotics increase support and cushion the feet while running  so they’ll give you the support you need and deserve.

Trainers

Regardless of what your workout plan may be, whether you’re running, cycling, or training in the gym, the best type of prevention from an injury you can have is making sure you wear the correct footwear. Failure to do so could lead to serious damage, like foot or ankle injuries, as well as damage to the knee. By having the correct shoe, you will reduce the impact of every step you take, cushioning your foot from any heavy landings you may have. Not only do they protect you, but they can even improve your performance because they provide you with a better start all round.

Now you have the information, make sure you get the appropriate footwear that caters to you and the kind of activities you’re going to be doing. Don’t ever get lazy and think that you’ll be okay, because even if you feel fine in your pumps and going straight into your workout without warming up – your body may be affected later on down the line.
