If you are planning to sell your home, then it can be a long old road. From the initial valuation with a realtor, to actually handing the keys over can be a long time. There are things that you can do to speed up the process, though. If your home is in a state that is ready to sell, then it speeds things up dramatically. Here some things that you can do to make your home have curb appeal and help it to sell faster.

Think About First Impressions

Aren’t you thinking about how to sell your house for the most money? Then one of the first things that potential buyers will see is the front of the home. Whether that is when they walk by or find your property online. They want to see what the outside of the house looks like first. So if the exterior isn’t up to scratch, then you need to do something about it. The exterior can put people off, which won’t make for a quick sale at all. It might just need a lick of paint to freshen things up, or just have the windows clean thoroughly. It might be that it needs more, though, like a house foundation repair. You could tidy up the front yard and perhaps jetwash your driveway. These things can be quick and simple, but they do make a massive difference when it comes to curb appeal.

Market the Home Yourself

When you go through a realtor, it can take up more time. They will value it and then take time to take photographs and get your property online. They have many properties to think about, and yours is just another one of those. So to speed things up, you could think about marketing your own property. You can register online to house search sites and market it that way. You can also get a ‘for sale’ sign yourself. You will be the one showing around potential buyers, so it is easier to fit that in your schedule than arrange with a third-party realtor. It will save you a lot of money in the sale too. So it is something to think about if you’d like a quick sale.

Depersonalize Your Home

When a potential buyer walks into your home, they want to be able to imagine themselves in there. But if there are tons of family photographs on every wall, it can be really hard to do that. So make your home a little less personal. Take down family photographs and just keep up generic wall art of pictures. Take down kid’s school artwork from the refrigerator, for example, and hide away most of the toys and trinkets in the house. It is only temporary, of course. When you’re in your new home, you can make it as you’d like it again.

Choose the Right Time

Though you can, in theory, sell your property at any time, there are times that are more likely to lead to a quick sale. Historically springtime is the best time to sell. Summer also works as people might wait until school is done and move before the new school year. So you’re more likely to get a quick sale during these months. So that is something to consider too. Sometimes you won’t have a choice, of course.
