Santa Elisabetta is a luxury Italian restaurant, located on the first floor of the most romantic hotel in Florence – Hotel Brunelleschi. Just recently, it has been mentioned in the 2019 Michelin Guide for outstanding service and quality. While compiling the 2019 Italian Restaurant Guide, Gambero Rosso gave Santa Elisabetta a prestigious score of 80 out of 100. While in 2018, the restaurant had been awarded a ‘Chef’s Hat’ recognition in the Gourmet Guide by L’Espresso. The restaurant offers a harmonious mix of historical atmosphere and elaborated culinary arts, offering a dining experience that can’t be found in any other exclusive setting in Florence.

Elegant Atmosphere: Overlooking one of the most fascinating corners of Florence, the elegance and the charm of Santa Elisabetta Restaurant can even be felt from the outside. It is housed in the Torre Della Pagliazza, the tower that is thought to be dating back to the Byzantine time and has been used as a women’s prison during the 12th century. Now, it is decorated with some specifically designed elegant furnishing and provides the setting for a refined, intimate dining experience. The restaurant is also great for celebrating a special occasion with a romantic partner, friends, and family.

Great-tasting foods: Complementing the lavish setting, the restaurant offers a variety of elaborated and imaginative Mediterranean dishes. Carefully prepared by Chef Rocco de Santis, the restaurant offers a tasting menu, a la carte menu and some mouth-watering desserts. Overall, the menu has a great variety – starting from sweetbreads and pasta dishes, with the luxury of seafood and cheese. The 7-courses ‘fusion’ menu is a great way to start, instead, you can also opt for the 9-courses ‘Chef Experience’. They also offer an elaborated vegetarian and vegan dishes, with the chefs willing to prepare special gluten-free dishes upon requests for people with celiac disorder.

Champagnes & Wines: True to its name as a luxury Italian restaurant, the restaurant has a customized décor reminiscent of the 19th century to enjoy a drink. It is a Maison Recommandée Perrier-Jouët, meaning, it is one of the few places to enjoy a glass of Perrier-Jouët champagne. Curated by Alessandro Fe, the wine cellar is filled with 250 Italian wines, providing a perfect complement to its savory dishes.
