Beef Tenderloin Recipe crab stuffed

When it comes to celebrating a special occasion or an important dinner, it’s always hard to choose what to cook.

Chicken is almost always out of the question, not because there’s anything wrong with it but rather because ‘fancy meals’ tend to translate to seafood or meat.

So the question often is: “What should I prepare? Meat or seafood?”

Well, who said you had to choose?

Some types of seafood, like crab or shrimp, are mild enough in their taste that they can easily be combined with meat in order to achieve an unique yet delicious flavor.

Today, we’re showing you how to make one of those recipes: Crabmeat stuffed beef tenderloin.

This recipe lets you cook with the best of both worlds by using crab meat and red meat as the main ingredients!

It might not seem like the most natural of combinations but, trust us, once you’ve tried our crab stuffed beef tenderloin it will quickly become one of your favorites and we’re willing to bet your family and friends will love it too.

Let’s get started!

For This Recipe, You’ll Need…

Tools:

Skillet

Paper Towel

Kitchen string

Roasting Pan

Ingredients:

Bacon, 8 Strips

Beef Tenderloin Roast, about 3 pounds

Crabmeat, about 18 ounces

Water, 1 cup.

Beef broth, ½ cup. (Can be substituted with Burgundy wine)

Lemon juice, 2 tsp.

Butter, 1 tbsp.

Soy sauce, 1 tbsp.

Sugar, 1tsp.

Step 1 – Cook the Bacon.

Heat up a large skillet and cook your bacon streets until they’re cooked. Remove before they get crisp.

We’re using regular bacon for this but you can use turkey bacon if you’re looking for a healthier choice.

Step 2 – Stuff your Tenderloin.

Slice your tenderloin lengthwise but not all the way. Think of a book.

Open the meat so that it’s flat and carefully place the crab meat inside.

Close your tenderloin and use kitchen string to tie it so that it stays closed during the cooking process.

Step 3 – Prepare the Oven

Preheat your oven to 420 degrees.

While you wait, wrap your bacon strips around the meat and combine the beef broth, lemon juice and ½ cup of water.

Step 4 – Bake

Place your tenderloin in a shallow roasting pan and pour the mix over the meat.

Place it in the oven and bake for 40-60 minutes, or whatever your meat preference is.

Step 5 – Make the Sauce

This step should be done only after the tenderloin has finished cooking.

In a saucepan mix onion, butter, soy sauce, sugar and the remaining water. For extra flavor, you can add the pan drippings as well.

Bring the mix to a boil while stirring and let it simmer for 5 minutes over low heat.

Once it’s ready, stir in parsley, green onion or any dressings you’d like.

Step 6 – Serve

Slice your tenderloin in 10 portions and serve, pouring sauce over the meat.

Tips:

  • For the sauce, feel free to add steak sauce and burgundy wine to enhance the flavor.
  • For the sauce, feel free to add browning sauce to improve the appearance. One teaspoon should do the trick but you can use more if you want.
  • If you want to give your crab meat more flavor, mix it with minced green onion.

As you can see, while the recipe will charm your guests and family alike, it’s actually quite easy to make and it’s a great option for those who are just getting started in the world or cooking or those who simply don’t have the time to follow complicated steps.

Thank you for reading! We hope you enjoy our recipe.
