Annals of Ayurveda

Ayurveda, one of the most primitive and earliest form medicine which said to be originated in India. It is a Sanskrit word which basically means that knowledge of how to get healthy and have long life.  According to mythology, once lord Hanuman save the life of Lord Lakshman from herbal leaves known as ‘sanjeevani’. This is why it is considered that India is the home of herbal science.

Vedas

Ayurveda, herbal science was originated in India about 5000 year ago. It is one of the oldest healing sciences which are still in practice. All this therapy medicine evolved after the revolution of Acharya Ved Vyas. He put his basic philosophy in set of religious book Vedas. Interestingly, all these books have assumed as true without any affirmed testing.

Just after the invention and success of these practices, visitors from different country like China, Russia, Persia etc started visiting India to learn these herbal science Medicare.
This contributed a lot towards Ayurveda. But, a significant contribution was made by Acharya Charaka, Who described his theory about metabolism. In all these Acharya, one of the most important contribution was made by Acharya Sushruta, who is well-known as ‘father of surgery’.

Attributes of Ayurveda

Ayurveda is fully based on herbal science; it uses herbs, colours, foods, aromas, gems, sloks, mantras and even surgery if needed. There are around 5000 herbs known in Ayurveda, in which 1000 herbs are widely used in day to day life. Actually, study of Ayurveda deals with different herbs and its effect on human body.
Ayurveda medicines are generally made after processing herbs in different ways such as roasting them in ghee, fermenting them to make several wines, preparing their powder extract.

Other than herbs Ayurveda deals with minerals which are elicited from the core of earth. Few minerals are very essential in wellbeing of human beings. One of the most important virtue of Ayurveda it has its third wing other than medicine and surgery i.e. its herbal therapy. Herbs and other ingredients are applied gently on human body to heal.

Home Remedies

Every Indian home has doctor without a degree. Yes, actually it is true. All of us generally have plenty of remedies for different health issues. We use ginger in cold, eat basil (tulsi) and (neem) leaves for purification of blood. But, do we know all these practices fall under Ayurveda. After the revolution of Ayurveda, all these remedies came to existence or rather say limelight. Moreover, these are quite effective and generous.
