  • Tomatoes Plants

It is important to note that we are speaking of tomato plants and not tomato trees. Tomato plants grow on vines, and tomato trees are a variety that grows on shrubs. • Carrots

The good thing about planting your carrots now is they will grow until you harvest them. They will produce a good harvest until late in the summer. There are many varieties of carrots. For early planting, we recommend Little Finger and Scarlet Nantes. You can grow them even in containers. Click here to find out more about this.

Don’t forget your herbs

While you are preparing your early garden, don’t forget your herbs. You can easily plant an indoor herb garden which you can move outdoors as you wish. These herbs are easy to grow and they give your food a great flavor. Also, most herbs are full of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and medicinal properties. Consider these:

  • Basil or Sweet Basil
  • Oregano
  • Cilantro
  • Thyme
  • Sage
  • Peppermint

Look up the herbs and discover what the herbs and the herb oils can do for you. Also, some herbs act like insect and rodent repellents. This makes them a great addition to your garden.

For example, dipping fresh peppermint into warm water and then spritzing your cupboards and drawers will keep mice from trying to invade your home. Basil is a powerful anti-inflammatory natural medication that can be used to treat arthritis.

There are many more vegetables that you can plant now or in the near future, and there is always enough space for a few herbs (you can even plant them in empty plastic coffee tins and with two holes punched for string and a couple on the bottom for drainage, and hang them on the fence.

There are plenty of free apps you can download if you need help. So, what are you waiting for? Get started on your garden today, and you will have tasty veggies in your kitchen before you know it.
