A Guide to Raising Happy and Healthy Kids

Raising healthy, happy and responsible kids is any parent’s biggest achievement. However, it is not always easy. You still have to be a productive employee or entrepreneur but still ensure there is enough food and a roof over their heads. That is also a big part of their health and happiness. Many parents have tried striking a balance between the two, and they have managed to get the best of both worlds. All it takes is knowing the right practices and trying as much as possible to adhere by them.

Here are some of the best methods of raising a happy family.

Sleep Time

Adults can stay up late into the night, wake up at 5 a.m and still go to work and function well for the most part of the day. For kids, sleep is a very essential part of their wellbeing. They need to go to bed early and get at least 8 hours of sleep. 10 hours is much better. This is usually regarded as one of the most important tips on keeping your children healthy. So, no matter how late you are working or how far you are from home, ensure that your kids are put to bed at the required time.

Stay Outside

Technology is good, but it is raising very unhealthy kids if technology isn’t moderated. By moderating technology, you can teach your kids to play soccer, spend more time outside, play a musical instrument and hang out with their friends either outside or inside, but away from technology. Rather than have them communicate over instant messaging, they can speak to one another face-to-face. There are plenty of games they can play with their friends and get to experience a robust social life. It will be good for their soul and general health. Thanks to the internet, you have plenty of resources like funattic.com to help you come up with fun activities and games that you and your kids can participate in. Since you cannot deny them video games and smartphones, limit the amount of time they spend on them and suggest alternatives.

Balanced Diet

The difference between kids who visit the doctor regularly and those that rarely get sick is a balanced diet. Most parents spoil their kids with candy, chocolate and cakes as a show of affection. Even though their intentions are good, the future will not be that bright for the kids. Your kids will not appreciate your efforts to swap out their ice cream for bananas and mangoes, but with time they will come to understand why. At adulthood, they will thank you for it when they are healthy and well.

Laugh

You can never go wrong with laughter. Kids generally love to laugh. Make sure they get plenty of it at home every single day. Not only will it enrich their lives but yours too. Letting them see the positive side of life will help them approach their obstacles in different perspectives and never succumb to depression or guilt. A positive attitude is like a balanced diet. They both lead to healthy individuals.

Teaching Kids to Play Ukulele

Research shows that music affects the brain, and playing the musical instrument makes your kid smarter.  That is why you should teach your kid learns to play an instrument. Keyboard, Guitar, Ukulele, and Drum Set are easy for kids to learn to play. Personally, I feel ukulele is the best suit for kids because the ukulele has a small size, super fun, super easy learns to play, and this is an inexpensive instrument.
