As you know here at Tasteful Space we like to look at ways that you can improve your life, save some money while doing so and in general just navigate this crazy thing we call life together. Well while we like to talk about inside the home, today we are joining up with the folks at WhatShed as we head out into the garden and look at why gardening is good for your mind, body, and soul.
To start with gardening is one heck of a workout. You can burn as many calories as you do in the gym by gardening for a few hours, but gardening is way more fun! Also, gardening is great for your heart as those who garden on a regular basis are 27 percent less likely too heavy a heart attack or suffer from a stroke!
Gardening is a great way to make yourself eat more healthily. As you will be growing things like fruit and vegetables (sorry there is no way to grow a cheesecake just yet) you will be more likely to stick to eating these more healthy foods. Not only will you be eating better, you will be saving money by eating your homegrown food to which means you have more money for the finer things in life like clothes and beauty products.
If you have a stressful day or a hard week at work, studies have shown that getting out in the garden and swinging the rake around, potting some new plants or trying to grow a new kind of fruit is a great way to blow off steam and relieve some of that stress. People who like to garden have scientifically proven to have less stress than those who do not.
